South Cotabato, Philippines – The Provincial Government of South Cotabato started the orientation for the first batch of beneficiaries under the Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES), marking the beginning of a month-long summer job opportunity for 300 youth beneficiaries.
The orientation is in preparation for the work immersion period scheduled from May 27 to June 27, 2025. This initiative is part of the province’s ongoing commitment to support students by providing them with meaningful employment during school breaks. Under the SPES program, the beneficiary receives a daily wage of ₱615.

The program aims to help students finance their education while instilling a sense of responsibility and work. According to the Public Employment Service Unit (PESU) of South Cotabato, this first batch is just the beginning, as more SPES slots will open throughout the year to reach more deserving youth across the province.
The SPES program is jointly implemented by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and local government units, ensuring financial and developmental needs.
