South Cotabato, Philippines – The Provincial Veterinary Office of South Cotabato released its latest anti-rabies vaccination report, highlighting remarkable achievements in safeguarding barangays from rabies through proactive and extensive immunization efforts.
As indicated in the report, the municipalities of Tboli and Tupi made significant progress. There are now 1,213 vaccinated pets in Tboli, with 1,017 dogs and 196 cats having received vaccinations. This success is attributed to the strong collaboration between the local government and pet owners who actively participated in the campaign.
Meanwhile, Tupi recorded an impressive vaccination record, with 1,003 pets—848 dogs and 155 cats—vaccinated against rabies. The campaign’s effectiveness in Tupi demonstrates the community’s understanding of rabies prevention and the importance of protecting both humans and pets from this deadly disease.
Dr. Byron Dela Cruz, Provincial Veterinary Officer, said South Cotabato’s commitment to public health and safety is exemplified by these immunization campaigns.
“The Provincial Veterinary Office aims to enhance public safety and promote responsible pet ownership by preventing the transmission of rabies,” Dela Cruz stressed,
PVET continues to collaborate with local governments and barangay leaders to reach out to more pet owners and ensure high vaccination coverage across the province. Pet owners are encouraged to participate in upcoming vaccination programs to keep communities free of rabies and protect their beloved pets.
