City of Koronadal — The Provincial Development Council (PDC) has unanimously approved the Provincial Development and Physical Framework Plan (PDPFP) during its Yearend Meeting held last December 4 at FB Hotel, this city.
With the approval, the DRR-CCA Enhanced PDPFP will be endorsed to the Regional Land Use Committee (RLUC) as well as the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) for adoption.
National Economic Development Authority (NEDA) 12 has recognized South Cotabato as the first province in the country to formulate its PDPFP.
The DRR-CCA Enhanced PDPFP was the product of the different meetings and consultations with various government agencies which improved and harmonized the data presented, particularly those under PDC’s Sectoral Development Plan.
It was presented by the PPDO in the early of part of the year to provincial department heads and other key officials, MPDOs, NGAs, GOCCs, partner NGOs and other stakeholders in a forum held at Cinco Ninas, this city.
Its revised outline featured 6 chapters that include Introduction, The Vision-Mission, The Planning Environment, Land Use and Physical Framework, Development Issues, Goals, Objectives and Targets, and Strategies, Programs, Projects and Activities.
It has two major parts; the Physical Framework Plan and the Sectoral Development Plan.
Prior to its approval, Provincial Board Member Vicente de Jesus, SP Committee Chair on Finance and Appropriations and Presiding Officer representing PDC Chair Governor Daisy Avance Fuentes, listened to the presentation of PDC Sectoral Committees on Social Development and Institutional Development.
The PDPFP is a six year plan that will start in 2014 until 2019.
