Resumption of Php200-M hospital extension project to commence in October

The resumption of the Php200-million expansion of the provincial hospital funded by the national government will commence by the end of October, South Cotabato Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr. said.

The project which is set to be constructed at the ProTech Center is expected to increase the capacity of the South Cotabato Provincial Hospital by an additional 100 beds from its existing capacity of 200 patients. Early last week, the government reports that the SCPH has reached 470 patients, which is beyond the normal capacity of the hospital.

Aside from this, Governor Tamayo disclosed that another Php 200 million in fresh funds from the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) is still in the process as additional resources for the hospital project.

“With these additional funds,  it will open additional services for our constituents”, he said,

Citing the original design of the expansion building, included facilities are the administrative offices, operating rooms, nursing service facilities, X-ray rooms, private rooms, and wards, among others.

Governor Tamayo said, more the provincial government will hire more medical workers with the hospital expansion project.
