Koronadal City—United Nations Development Program (UNDP) tapped the Provincial Government of South Cotabato as one o the 20 Provincial Government Units nationwide to pilot the localized Sustainable Development Goals through road projects.
Gov. Reynado Tamayo, Jr. committed to set tools and localized process in improving 74 unique indicators.
“Lahat ng goals ay dapat na matupad. Pag merong isa na maiiwan natin, tiyak na ang lahat ng goals ay babagsak din,” the governor said during the SDG Localization Commitment Pledging on Thursday.
Tamayo also ensures no negative slippage in road projects in South Cotabato.
“Sa provincial government side, tinitiyak ko ang proper monitoring and inspection upang tuloy tuloy ang mga targets,” Tamayo said.
Through the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), it brings in the importance of SDG to the local level in the context of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
“Ang lahat ay konektado sa daan. We give quality roads. We give opportunities to communities,” the governor added.
