South Cotabato beneficiaries receive over 1.8 Million PHP in Comprehensive Aid

South Cotabato, Philippines — Last week, the Provincial Employment Service Unit in South Cotabato successfully distributed a total fund of 1,898,026 PHP to deserving beneficiaries, encompassing a range of vital support, including salary disbursements, GSIS group insurance coverage, and personal protective equipment (PPE). The beneficiaries received their allocation through a remittance center.

The funding, made possible through the generous allocation from the office of Senator Villanueva, is part of the Department of Labor and Employment’s (DOLE) TUPAD (Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers) program, aimed at providing immediate assistance to vulnerable workers during these challenging times.

Comprehensive Assistance Breakdown:

  1. Salary Support: A significant portion of the fund went towards providing beneficiaries with essential salary support, ensuring that workers have the means to meet their daily needs. This assistance serves as a lifeline for many who have faced employment challenges.
  2. GSIS Group Insurance Coverage: In a proactive step to safeguard the well-being of workers, the program also included group insurance coverage from the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS). This coverage offers beneficiaries an added layer of financial protection in the face of uncertainties.
  3. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Recognizing the importance of safety and health amid the ongoing pandemic, the fund allocation included the provision of personal protective equipment (PPE) to beneficiaries. This helps protect both workers and their families as they go about their daily lives.

Beneficiaries expressed their gratitude for the support they received, emphasizing how it has alleviated financial burdens and provided a sense of security during these uncertain times. Many families are now better equipped to meet their basic needs and protect themselves from health risks.

The Provincial Employment Service Unit played a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and equitable distribution of these vital resources. Their dedication and hard work in coordinating this initiative have been instrumental in reaching the intended recipients promptly.

Flora Gallego, PESU Chief, said that this generous support from the office of Senator Villanueva underscores the importance of collaborative efforts to provide immediate assistance to those who need it most. South Cotabato residents stand united in their commitment to helping one another navigate the challenges posed by the ongoing pandemic.

“As the community moves forward, the impact of this comprehensive aid package will continue to be felt, contributing to the resilience and well-being of South Cotabato’s workforce,” she said.

The DOLE TUPAD program remains an essential lifeline for disadvantaged workers, offering hope and assistance during these challenging times.
