South Cotabato, Philippines – The 3rd T’nalak “Pinaka” Contest (Livestock and Poultry Category) wowed festivalgoers once again as farmers and livestock enthusiasts from various municipalities gathered to showcase the biggest and best animals in South Cotabato.
Organized by the Office of the Provincial Veterinarian in partnership with the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist, the annual contest highlights the region’s most outstanding livestock and poultry, proving that South Cotabato continues to raise the bar when it comes to quality and excellence in animal farming.
“This is not just a fun contest—it is our way of recognizing the hard work of our farmers and promoting small-scale farming as a sustainable livelihood,” Javier emphasized.
This year’s “heaviest of the heavy” entries from different municipalities truly impressed. Here are the official winners:
“PINAKA” Winners:
- Pinaka Mabigat na Kambing: 101.35 kg – Tupi
- Pinaka Mabigat na Manok: 6.35 kg – Tupi
- Pinaka Mabigat na Itlog ng Manok: 112 g – Banga
- Pinaka Mabigat na Kuneho: 6.15 kg – Polomolok.
In addition to the traditional categories, the contest also featured a Crowd Favorite Segment for specialty breeds like Gamefowl and Oriental Chickens. These categories aimed to celebrate not only size but also beauty, form, and audience appeal.
