The final tally of South Cotabato for the Sabayang Patak Kontra Polio (SPKP) – synchronized mass Oral Polio Vaccination (mOPV) Round 3 is 97.69%, which is slightly higher from a similar mOPV last year where it was only recorded at 93.79% accomplishment, the Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO) reported.
The 97.69% accomplishment surpassed the 95% target set by the Department of Health (DOH) and is equivalent to 111,978 out of 114,774 targeted children aged 0-59 months old for the 14-day SPKP which started on January 20 and culminated on February 2.
South Cotabato surpassed the 95% target of the SPKP when it recorded 95.70% on the 11th day or equivalent to 109,843 children subjected to mOPV.
The accomplishment slowly increased when daily reports from day 12 to 14 reached only 0.89%, 0.59% and 0.38%, respectively, for the final total of 97.69%.
Accomplishments of the 11 LGUs compiled by the IPHO were as follows: Banga – 10,518 (99.87%), Koronadal City – 21,943 (100.03%), Lake Sebu – 10,782 (98.33%), Norala – 5,921 – (101.24 %), Polomolok – 17,336 (90.60%), Sto. Nino – 5,125 (99.81%). Surallah – 10,458 (98.65%), Tampakan -4,845 (97.75%), Tantangan – 4,877 (89.94%), T’boli – 11,659 (101.67%), Tupi – 8,514 (97.03%).
South Cotabato is now preparing for rounds 4 and 5 of the SPKP-mOPV when it resume on February 17 – March 2 and March 23 – April 4, respectively, as per DOH schedule.
