South Cotabato, Philippines – The Provincial Government of South Cotabato has once again proven its commitment to fostering a robust and dynamic business environment, having been named as one of the finalists in the 2024 Most Business-Friendly Local Government Unit (LGU) Awards at the province level. This prestigious recognition is awarded by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI), honoring LGUs that have demonstrated exceptional governance in promoting trade, investments, and local economic development.
Tyronne Jan Villanueva, South Cotabato Investment and Promotions Head, said the award highlights South Cotabato’s commendable initiatives in advancing economic growth through streamlined business processes, transparent governance, and policies that encourage both small and large enterprises to thrive.
“These initiatives have contributed significantly to the province’s continued economic stability, even amid various challenges,” Villanueva said.
The official certificate of recognition was given on September 23, 2024, sent through the official email address of South Cotabato Investment and Promotions Unit.
“The certificate celebrates the province’s outstanding reforms and efforts in promoting a business-friendly environment that supports the private sector and local entrepreneurs, which play a critical role in job creation and livelihood generation,” Villanueva stressed.
South Cotabato’s provincial government, under the leadership of Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo, Jr., has placed a strong emphasis on inclusive development, prioritizing policies that promote ease of doing business, infrastructure improvement, and investment in key industries.
