KORONADAL CITY — A government employee from South Cotabato has been named one of the national semi-finalists for the prestigious 2025 Gawad Lingkod Bayan ng Pangulo, the Civil Service Commission (CSC) announced.
Romel Tison Evangelio, Administrative Aide III (Driver I) from the Provincial Government of South Cotabato, is among the 15 individuals shortlisted nationwide for the award, which recognizes extraordinary contributions in public service with lasting impact on the lives of Filipinos.
The Gawad Lingkod Bayan ng Pangulo is given to individuals or groups whose innovative work or exceptional performance has had a wide-reaching effect on public interest, national security, or patrimony.
As part of the selection process, the CSC has opened a public feedback mechanism to help evaluate the semi-finalists. In a statement, CSC Chairperson Atty. Marilyn B. Yap encouraged the public to participate by submitting their comments until July 21, 2025.
“If you have encountered them, were served by them, or if their projects and programs changed your life, participate in the evaluation process by sending feedback, whether positive or negative,” Yap said. “These awards are given to government employees for their exceptional contribution that has meaningful impact in public service.”
The recognition of Evangelio highlights the vital role of frontline personnel in delivering efficient and compassionate government service. His inclusion among this year’s semi-finalists brings pride not only to South Cotabato but also to the thousands of civil servants across the country who continue to serve with dedication.
Final awardees will be announced later this year after a thorough evaluation process.
