The national government is currently conducting regional dialogues all over the country. Dubbed “Dagyaw 2019: Open Government and Participatory Governance Regional Dialogues, the regional events aims to encourage participation in dialogues among government agencies and units, the public, civil society and private organizations and other stakeholders. The dialogues are scheduled to happen is ten (10) different regions within the year.
The term “dagyaw” is a Hiligaynon term for “bayanihan” that generally means “togetherness”. This is an effort of the national government to provide an avenue for the public and the government to engage in meaningful and relevant discussions as well as convergence of efforts in the delivery of front-line services.
During the Dagyaw 2019 in the City of Koronadal on July 25, 2019, the provincial government of South Cotabato, through the Governor, Hon. Reynaldo S. Tamayo, Jr., was invited as one of the guests. As one of the commitment-holders to the OGP at the sub-national level, Governor Tamayo assures his support to President Duterte’s commitment in delivering government services by enabling a more open, transparent and participatory government in South Cotabato.
