Clean & Green TWG conducts orientation on Inter-Barsngay Cuntest

Members of the Technical Working Group (TWG)  of the Search for Cleanest & Greenest LGU led by Supervising Environment Management Specialist Elbe Balucanag of the Provincial Environment Management Office (PEMO) recently conducted the Orientation on the forthcoming Inter-Barangay Contest and Best Community Garden Contests for 2023.

The search is divided into (2) categories, namely; Inter-Barangay Contest which will be initiated by the respective participating  LGU while the Best Community Garden contest will be evaluated by TWG members.

Corresponding Cash Incentives await contest winners with the cash incentives for the  top (3) winners in the Best Community  Garden to be awarded by pineapple corporate giant Dole Philippines.

Criteria of the Inter-Barangay Contest are as follows: SYSTEMS & PROCESS – Proper Waste Management and Disposal (20%), Environmental Sanitation (15%), Vegetation & Beautification (10%), Support System ( 15%),  Sustainability  Mechanism (15%),  COMMUNITY GARDEN (15%),  ROADSIdE BEAUTIFICATION (10%), for a total of 100%,

Fohe Best Community Garden Special Award, the criteria are Community Participation (15%), Supporting Barangay Ordinance, Executive Order, Resolution (5%), Labels/Signages Installed (10%), Garden Layout (10%), Volume of Production (5%), Variability of Olants (10%), Operational Composting On-Site (15%), Sustainability Mechanism (10%), Cleanliness & Well Organized Garden (10%), for a total of 100%.

The Inter-Barangay Contest is set from August to September while thr validation and evaluation of the Best Community Garden is on September.

Awarding will be on November which is celebrated as Environmental Awareness Month, Clean Air Month and Climate Change Consciousness Week.
