By the virtue of Presidential Proclamation 683 February is declared as National Arts Month. South Cotabato is the only Province in the Philippines with the highest number of Gawad Manlilikha ng Bayan (GAMABA). Truly Angat sa lahat the Land of the Dreamweavers is home for National Living Treasures. The National Commission for Culture and Arts N.C.C.A. is the government organization tasked with coordinating grant distribution, policy formulation and execution, and coordination with regard to the preservation, advancement, and development of Philippine culture and the arts. An official statement from the Commission states: A Filipino people with a strong sense of nationhood and deep respect for cultural diversity.”
This year’s National Arts Month Celebration, South Cotabato prepared one month-long inclusive activities for its constituents.
