PLGU South Cotabato held its Second Cooperative Summit

SOUTH COTABATO, PHILIPPINES – The second cooperative summit for the entire province of South Cotabato was successfully held at the South Cotabato Gym and Cultural Center recently.

The Provincial Government of South Cotabato successfully conducted the second cooperatives summit held at the South Cotabato Gym and Cultural Centre last October 30.

The gathering of members from various cooperatives across the province is an annual event led by the newly established Provincial Cooperatives Development Office, headed by Atty. Renette B. Bergado.

An estimate of more than 500 members from different cooperatives across the province showed their support and showcased their talents through various competitions, including Booth Making, Boodle Fight Presentation, Folk Dance Competition, Yelling and Cheering Competition, and Vocal Duet competition.

Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr. expressed his gratitude at the presence of the cooperatives in the province, as it proves that South Cotabato continues to progress through the unity of its people.

“Ako’y natutuwa sapagkat ngayong araw nakikita ko na ang pagtitipon-tipon ng mga importanteng tao na nagdadala ng ekonomiyang mayroon tayo dito sa South Cotabato… Alam natin paano kayo [Cooperatives] nag-umpisa – dahil sa pagkakaisa at lahat kayo [Cooperatives] ay nagsisimbolo ng pagkakaisa natin dito sa probinsya..” – Governor Tamayo Jr. stated in his message.

Governor Tamayo also emphasized the vital role of cooperatives in the province’s development, especially in boosting its economy.

Provincial Cooperatives Development Officer and Acting Provincial Administrator, Atty. Renette B. Bergado, also expressed her gratitude for the support shown by the various cooperatives.

She added that she will continue to support whatever assistance the cooperatives need from the provincial government.
