KORONADAL CITY- A total of 47 Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) Centers have been established across the province from 2020 to the present. According to Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo, Jr., in his recent State of the Children’s Address (SOCHA), the provincial government allocated P66,251,000 during this period for the construction of these facilities.
The governor also revealed that just last year, seven (7) new day care centers were constructed in seven (7) municipalities in the province as part of the government’s continuous effort to expand educational services for children.
Over 21,000 Children Benefited
To date, 21,729 pre-school children have benefited from this program. Additionally, 664 day care workers have been formally accredited this year and deployed to various areas in the province. Among these, 165 day care centers have also received accreditation, ensuring high-quality services for young learners.
Support for Day Care Workers
To aid day care workers who manage the ECCD centers, the provincial government allocated P9,706,200 for their honorarium this year. This initiative underscores the government’s dedication to recognizing and supporting the vital contributions of these workers to the education of young children.

Through the ECCD centers and the efforts of day care workers, South Cotabato continues to champion early childhood education as a foundation for a brighter future for children. The extensive establishment of facilities and the provision of support for its workforce reflect the provincial government’s commitment to nurturing capable and well-prepared youth for the future.
