Koronadal City—The representatives from the World Health organization visited South Cotabato Thursday to validate the contributions of the Provincial Hospital HIV/AIDS Core Team Clinic to HIV and other infectious disease programs.
Dr. Rogelio Aturdido, Provincial Health Officer, said WHO has recognized the exemplary performance of HACT Clinic in providing medical attention to People Living with HIV.
“The clinic becomes home to many PLHIV because of the quality care they receive from our health workers,” Aturdido said.
Gov. Daisy Avance-Fuentes, in a meet-up with WHO representatives, said the LGBT community in South Cotabato is active and participative.
“We allow them to participate in all facets of governance. When we talk about their medical problem, they just came out because they trusted us,” Fuentes said.
The treatment clinic in South Cotabato is one of the active centers in the country.
