Koronadal City—Former Senator Ferdinand “Bong” Marcos spares his time to visit South Cotabato for the second time and witness the 20th Tnalak Festival and 53rd Foundation Anniversary, Thursday as a guest of honor and speaker.
“The Tnalak Festival reminds all of us of unity just like the famous Tnalak fabric of the Tboli people,” Marcos said.
He said Tnalak Festival brings people, communities, and traditions of South Cotabato together as symbolized by the Tboli woven cloth Tnalak, an icon of unity amidst diversity.
“I hope your festival will spread at the national perspective to suggest that unity is important in progress and development,” Marcos said.
Marcos and Gov. Reynaldo Tamayo, Jr. visited the 11 nipa huts along Alunan Avenue and witnessed the abundance of South Cotabato’s agricultural products.
“I am hoping that you will pilot the success stories of Ilocos Norte here in your province,” Marcos stressed out, emphasizing the similarity of his province to South Cotabatoas an agri-tourism area .
Marcos served as governor of Ilocos Norte. His province is one of the top provinces with a low incidence of poverty in the Philippines.
“Inggit ako sa malawak na lupain ninyo,” he said during a press conference.
