Arts Festival 2022 Update … Music Sector conduct Webinar Series on Digital Music, Songwriting

The Music Sector which is one of the art disciplines under the supervision of the Arts., Culture, Tourism and Museum (ACTM) Unit had started their Webinar Series as part of the celebration of the South Cotabato Arts Festival this month of February.

Jeward Cardenas, South Cotabato Chorale conductor disclosed thtat the 3-day Webinar Series started last February 11 through Zoom Virtual Application and will continue on February 18 and 25.

“Sixty (60) high school students under DepED’s  Special Program in the Arts (SPA) in the South Cotabato and City of Koronadal Divisions joined during the first day of the Webinar,” Cardenas added.

The topic on February 11 was “Traditional Music in the Digital World” with Marvin Blu Corpuz as the Resource Speaker. On February 18, CCA Commissioner Carlo Ebeo will be the invited Resource Speaker on the topic “A Day of Music  with Saro Banares”, the late legendary singer of the ‘80s popular ASIN Band who is a native of the City of Koronadal.

A songwriting contest will culminate the webinar series on February 25, in which song pieces submitted by participants will be judged on February 26-27.

On February 28, winners of the contest will be announced and the top 3 winners wil perform during the closing program of the South Cotabato Arts Festival.

 

First, Second and  Third Prize winners will receive cash incentives of P5,000, P3,000 and P2,000, respectively. .
