The awarding ceremony for this year’s Search for Most Outstanding Model Indigenous Peoples Family is slated on October 25, 2022, at the South Cotabato Gym and Cultural Center after the team of evaluators successfully ends the evaluation process.
Henry Malida, chairperson of the board of judges said that this year’s search has solicited eight entries only.
“Three towns were not able to submit their entries”, he said,
These are the municipalities of T’boli and Norala, while the municipality of Sto. Nino has no IP communities.
For this year, the participating families include the following:
Mr. Danilo and Mrs.Linda Malida of Tupi
Pastor Pin and Pastora Lea Gallero of Banga
Mr. Ruben and Mrs. Aida Bulang of Lake Sebu
Mr. Warlito and Mrs. Lorna Mayada of Tantangan
Mr. Romeo and Mrs. Teresita Feles of Tampakan
Mr. Ronald and Mrs. Elena Taflan of Surallah
Mr. Methusila and Mrs. Lucia Malida of Polomolok
Mr. Bernie and Mrs. Gracelia Fiang of Koronadal City
The criteria for the search include the quality of relationships between and among husband wife and children(20%); quality of persons(20%); ability to manage their resources(15%); involvement in community development activities (15%), kag quality of conditions at home (10%).
Additional criteria for cultural preservation and promotion were added with 20 percent to complete the overall score of 100%.
Provincial Population Officer Zenaida Duron disclosed that the winners of the said search will receive the following:
Most Outstanding Model Family – Php50,000 + trophy
1st Runner -up – Php30,000 + trophy
2nd Runner-Up – Php20,000 + trophy
Consolation prize -Php10,000 + Plaque of Recognition
A special Award -The family video winner will receive -Php8,000.
The awarding ceremony will be held at the same time as the celebration of the 7th Provincial Indigenous Peoples’ day cum 15th Kastifun Festival with the theme: “Pagtaguyod ng Pamayanang Kultura para sa isang Matatag na Pilipinas”.
