Koronadal City, South Cotabato – The South Cotabato Provincial Agriculture Office distributed livelihood assistance to qualified recipients from various provincial municipalities during the turn-over ceremony held at the Capitol Covered Court, on Monday.
A total of seventy (70) beneficiaries from ten (10) municipalities and one (1) city in the province have benefitted from this program. There are seven (7) beneficiaries from Surallah, six (6) from Polomolok, four (4) from Tampakan, six (6) from Tantangan, six (6) from Norala, ten (10) from Banga, and five (5) from Sto. Niño.
Meanwhile, the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist said there are four (4) other beneficiaries from Tupi, twelve (12) from Lake Sebu, five (5) from Tboli, and five (5) from the city of Koronadal.
Engr. Joan Batobalani, Supervising Agriculturist, shared her hope for the recipients.
“We only ask that you take good care of your goats, nurture them, and increase their numbers. In the future, this will allow more people to benefit from this program and provide them with greater opportunities,” she said.
The beneficiaries expressed their deep gratitude to the governor and the Provincial Government of South Cotabato.
“We acknowledged his unwavering support despite that we are in remote locations in the farthest reaches of South Cotabato, near the boundaries of neighboring provinces,” Jeneth Bongon, one of the farmer-beneficiaries from Lake Sebu, said in an interview.
Each recipient received ₱15,000 to support their goat-raising endeavors, aimed at helping farmers purchase goats for breeding and development. This livelihood assistance empowers farmers, offering them opportunities to grow their herds and enhance their livelihoods.
Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo, Jr. emphasized that, even in distant areas, no one is left behind.
“The provincial government will continue to offer them valuable assistance, never forgetting their needs,” the governor added.
