4 SouthCot towns Top 25 Most Competitive Municipalities

Four (4) +municipalities in the province of South Cotabato made it as Top 25 in the recently held Cities and Municipalities Competitive Index Survey conducted last August 7 by the National Competitiveness Council (NCC) that was participated by almost 500 cities and municipalities nationwide.

With this feat, South Cotabato holds the record as the province that has the most number of municipalities included in the Top 25, besting Rizal and Cavite provinces with 3 each and the rest of the provinces in the country with one each only.

Topping the list is Polomolok which ranked 8th, followed by Tupi (13th), T’boli (20th) and Surallah (21st).

The survey was based in 3 categories, namely; Economic Dynamism, Government Efficiency and Infrastructure.

Tupi was adjudged number #2 for Government Efficiency while Polomolok ranked 6th for Economic Dynamism.

Meanwhile, 2 towns in the province, Lake Sebu (316th) and Tantangan (325), landed at the bottom half of rankings.

Emmanuel Jumilla, Assistant Provincial Planning and Development Coordinator and concurrent Local Economic and Investment Promotions Officer, disclosed in his letter to the Governor that his office is already addressing this concern for the said LGUs to improve their rankings next year.
