NDMU sweeps 24th Phil Statistics Quiz with 1-2-3 finish

CITY OF KORONADAL — Notre Dame of Marbel University (NDMU) made a clean sweep in the 24th Philippine Statistics Quiz (PSQ) with a sterling 1-2-3 finish during the Provincial Eliminations (PE) held at PROTECH Center, this city, on October 30.

The winning NDMU college freshmen were Zyryll Fellores (Champion), Micoh Leonora (1st Runner-up) and Shaira Patrice Berueda (2nd Runner-up).

NDMU coach Skezeer John Paz disclosed that he trio were selected after series of elimination and their review commenced immediately after the selection.

The other winners were Grachielle Mae Asperga of St. Alexius College (3rd Runner-up) and Norlaine Diodina of Notre Dame Sienna College of Polomolok (4th Runner-up).

Cash incentives received by the Champion up to the 4th runner-up were P8,000.00, P7,000.00, P6,000.00, P4,000.00 and P3,000.00, respectively.

The top 3 coaches likewise received P2,000.00 each and the 4th and 5th runners-up coaches got P1,500.00 each.

Consolation Prize winners together with their coaches also received P1,500.00 and P1,000.00, respectively; the participating 15 schools meanwhile were awarded plaques of appreciation.

The top 5 winners will represent the province in the PSQ Regional Quiz.

PSQ – PE is one of the programs of the National Statistics Month celebrated every October with this year’s theme “Pagyamanin at Gamitin ang Estadistika, Kalusugan Para Sa Lahat ay Abot-Kamay Na.”

It aims to promote, enhance and instill awareness and appreciation of the importance and value of statistics among students in the tertiary level and likewise aims to generate public awareness on the important uses of statistics and win overall support for all government statistical activities.
