Over 4,700 residents in province receive aid from crisis assistance program in January

KORONADAL, SOUTH COTABATO- In an immediate response to the pressing needs of the constituents, the Assistance to Individual in Crisis Situation (AICS) program made a significant impact by extending aid to 4,724 individuals in the first month of 2024.

Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer, Mrs. Sonia L. Bautista, shared insights into the program’s success. She highlights proactive measures through hiring additional staff in response to the growing demand for services and for efficiency. This strategic move ensures that clients receive the vital aid they require during challenging times.

According to data from the PSWDO, it shows the comprehensive distribution of assistance, with 2,523 individuals benefiting from medicine assistance, 385 from burial assistance, 1,662 from hospital assistance, 15 from rice assistance, and 139 from financial assistance. For effective and urgent response to their needs, the office operates from seven in the morning until they reach the target clients, except for Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.

Moreover, PSWDO has enhanced its services to accommodate up to 200 clients per day, facilitating prompt and effective aid to those in need. Dedicated to its mission, PSWDO supports residents during times of crisis when they are most vulnerable and fragile. Evidently, PSWDO stands in the front row for invaluable contributions to the well-being of the community.
