South Cotabato celebrates business week, honors enterprises as partners in development

South Cotabato, Philippines – The Provincial Government of South Cotabato successfully celebrated Business Week, highlighting the crucial role of enterprises, entrepreneurs, and business owners as true partners in the province’s continued growth and development.

In a statement, Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr. emphasized the significance of the event, not just as a celebration, but also as a recognition of the essential role that Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play in the province’s progress.

“Isa ito sa pagkilala na ang mga Enterprises at Businessmen dito sa South Cotabato ay pinapahalagan ng ating lalawigan dahil hindi lamang sila simpleng mga negosyante kundi ito yung mga partners natin sa development ng ating lalawigan,” Governor Tamayo said.

This year’s Business Week featured a series of activities aimed at empowering local businesses, including exhibits and a much-anticipated Job Fair that provided employment opportunities to hundreds of job seekers.

A major highlight of Business Week was the Job Fair, which provided employment opportunities for job seekers in the province. Governor Tamayo shared that the initiative led to actual hirings, proving the effectiveness of the event in addressing unemployment.

“Nagkaroon din tayo ng Job Fair na kung saan talaga maraming na-employed.” At least 400 individuals were hired.

Tamayo highlights that the Provincial Government reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises through continuous support, capacity-building initiatives, and the promotion of programs that drive inclusive economic growth. Business Week stands as a testament to the collaborative spirit between the government and the private sector—working hand in hand for the future of South Cotabato.
