KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato – In a significant stride toward improving healthcare services in the province, the Provincial Government of South Cotabato has secured ₱200 million in funding support from Melco Resorts Foundation, the developer, owner, and operator of integrated resorts.
A high-level meeting was held between representatives from South Cotabato and Melco Resorts Foundation to finalize and follow up on the assistance.
The funding allocation includes:
₱50 million for a hospital project in the Municipality of Tantangan
₱50 million for a hospital in the City of Koronadal
₱100 million for the development of the South Cotabato Provincial Hospital Extension
This landmark development is made possible through the strong leadership of Governor Reynaldo Sucayan Tamayo Jr., who remains steadfast in his commitment to providing free, accessible, high-quality healthcare to every South Cotabateño.
Governor Tamayo, represented by Provincial Engineer Lloyd M. Esparagosa was joined by key partners from the Melco Resorts Foundation – Armin Antonio B. Raquel Santos, Vice President of Melco Resorts Foundation, and Assistant Vice President Engr. Ram Edward Q. Tardaguela.
“This will further strengthen our free hospitalization program in the province—it’s a bold step toward a healthier South Cotabato. With strong partnerships and a unified vision, we are building a future where healthcare is not a privilege, but a right for all,” Governor Tamayo said.
The ₱200 million assistance underscores a shared commitment to enhance the medical landscape in the province—ensuring that hospitals are better equipped, services are more accessible, and facilities meet the growing needs of the people – strengthening the brand of “tama at maayos na serbisyo” brand of public service through free and accessible healthcare.
