espite the Corona Virus Disease (CoViD-19) that badly hit the province and the country as a whole in 2020 and 2021, the tourism industry in South Cotabato still posted positive marks in job generation as the number of workers hired is increasing from 2020 t0 2023.
Based from the statistics gathered by the Arts, Culture, Tourism and Museum (ACTM) Unit from 2020 to 2023, the numerical figures showed a steady increase in tourism employment for the period of 4 years.
Employment in 2020 registered 2,980, 3,569 in 2021, 4,250 in 2022 and 5,288 in 2023, the ACTMU record showed.
Toppinhe list of tourism employment generators are Accomodation Establishment/Resort, Transport Operator, Food and Dining. It is followed by Recreational Facility/Resort, Agri-Tourism, MICE Facility, Travel and Tours, Health and Wellness, Tourist-related, Specialty Shop/Tourist Shop, Ambulatory Clinic and Eco-Guide
