PVET receives Most Outstanding Swine Surveillance award

The Provincial Veterinary Office was awarded the Most Outstanding Swine Surveillance award given by the Department o Agriculture, Bureau of  Animal Industry Veterinary Quarantine Station in Region 12.

Said award was given for the intensified implementation of active surveillance in swine hog raisers to protect Region 12  against the threat of African Swine Fever.

During the Monday Flag Raising ceremony held earlier today, Provincial Veterinarian Dr. Flora Bigot presented before the provincial officials and employees said award as a manifestation that the province remains free from the African Swine Fever.

Bigot expressed her gratitude to all the employees of PVET who worked hard to maintain the status of the province, its counterpart at the municipal level, partner agencies, and those who support the initiatives of their department.

Bigot added that while other provinces did not maintain their status as ASF-free, the province of South Cotabato under the leadership of Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr. through the Provincial Veterinary Office is steadfast to implement measured against ASF.
