OPAG conducts training on organic goat raising to Rural Based Organizations

In support of the Organic Agriculture Program, the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist conducted a three-day training on organic goat raising in three Batches at the Provincial Nursery and Demonstration Farm, Banga, and at the Municipal Fish Port, in Lake Sebu.
The beneficiaries for the training are Rural Based Organizations such as the 4H clubs, Rural improvement clubs, Pambansang Mannalon, Mag-uuma, Magbabaul ng Pilipinas (P4MP), Volunteer Leader Association of the Philippines (VLAP), HALAL and Convergence groups.
The resource person for said training was Mr. Alan Omar Castillo, Agricultural Center Chief II sang Animal Production and Processing Center (APPC) together with the staff from the Organic Agriculture Program sang OPAg.
According to Provincial Agriculturist Raul Teves, the participants underwent proper validation and inspection from the OPAG and in cooperation with the Municipal Agriculture Offices in their respective municipalities.
Each participant was granted a Php 15k seed fund which they will use in buying organic goats as their start-up.
