CATCH-UP Team Monitors Water System Projects in South Cotabato

The Convergence Approach for Transformation and Change – Unification Program (CATCH-UP) team conducted a series of monitoring visits to several water system projects in South Cotabato on May 19 and 20, 2025. The inspection covered both ongoing and completed projects located in key upland communities, including Sitio Bangkaing in Barangay Edwards, T’boli; Purok Paraiso in Barangay El Nonok, Banga; and Sitio Elbio in Barangay Bukay Pait, Tantangan.

The initiative is part of the government’s broader effort to enhance rural infrastructure and ensure the delivery of essential services in geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas. According to team officials, the monitoring activities are crucial to verify that the systems are not only operational but also designed to remain sustainable and responsive to the needs of the local population.

These water systems were developed under a convergence approach involving local government units, national agencies, and community stakeholders. Aside from physical infrastructure, the projects also include training on basic system maintenance and management to empower local beneficiaries and ensure long-term success.

The CATCH-UP program continues to prioritize water access as a cornerstone of its community development agenda, especially in remote and underserved barangays across the region.
