Governor Tamayo emphasized the importance of education as a cornerstone of peace and development.

“The construction of Madrasah schools is part of our efforts to ensure inclusive education for all communities. Through education, we empower people and foster lasting peace,” he said.

The Provincial Government of South Cotabato allocates funding for the construction of two Madrasah schools annually. This initiative is rooted in a proposal by the Provincial Peace and Order Council, presented under the CATCH-Up program. The CATCH-Up program, which focuses on poverty alleviation, was originally spearheaded by Maria Ana Uy, who recently retired. It is now under the supervision of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO).

The project highlights the provincial government’s unwavering commitment to inclusivity and progress, ensuring that even underserved communities receive support for education and development.

“This is not just about buildings,” said Governor Tamayo. “It is about giving hope and a future to every child in South Cotabato.”

As the community of Barangay Lapu celebrated the completion of their new Madrasah school, it symbolizes a brighter tomorrow built on education, peace, and cooperation.
