A Drama Festival Competition will be launch this February in celebration of the National Arts Month spearheaded by the Apat sa Taglamig (AST) Theater Productions.
The contest is open to all public secondary school-based theater groups in the province with the competition dates scheduled on February 3,10, 17 and 24.
As per mechanics and guidelines, AST pointed out that each competing team must consist of a minimum of 2-3 actors, excluding the production team that include stage managers, a lighting director, and a music director. All scripts used in the competition must likewise be original and not previously performed or published.
All participating teams must submit their scripts and production concepts for approval by a specified deadline, AST added.
Scripts must be original and not infringe on copyright or intellectual property rights. Detailed production plans, including set design, lighting, and music concepts, should be submitted along with the script.
Each competing team will also be guided by a mentor from AST Productions to provide valuable insights, advice, and support throughout the production process.
The Pool of Mentors are Jear Lopez, Yancy Dizon and Leo Dominic Padua, and the Judges are Florenz Tugas, Jim Raborar and Anna Liz Cabrido.
AST will give awards with cash incentives to outstanding participants such as Best Production (P10,000) and Special Citation (P 3,000).
