Gov. Tamayo expresses gratitude, commits to strengthening programs in final term

KORONADAL CITY – Fresh from his re-election victory, South Cotabato Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo, Jr. has extended his heartfelt gratitude to the people of the province for their continued trust and support.

“The election is over. First of all, thank you for your support. We’re moving forward with another three years,” the governor said in his post-election message. “This will be my last term as your governor, and I intend to make the most of it by strengthening the programs we have already started.”

Gov. Tamayo emphasized that his final term will be focused and filled with hard work.

“I’ve decided to fully dedicate myself in the next three years. It won’t be easy, but I am committed to institutionalizing the initiatives we’ve begun. If possible, I want them formally embedded as permanent programs that cannot be easily removed,” he added.

The governor also took pride in the conduct of his campaign, which he described as modest and people-centered.

“I’m glad we were able to prove that we didn’t spend excessively, and we didn’t put up more tarpaulins,” he said.

In a firm appeal, Tamayo called on both winning and losing candidates to take responsibility for cleaning up election-related materials.

“I urge all candidates, whether you won or lost, to remove the tarpaulins you posted. We have an obligation to South Cotabato. Let us lead by example in keeping our surroundings clean. The Commission on Elections has only given us five days to do this,” he stressed.

The governor also extended his appreciation to provincial employees for their unwavering commitment throughout the campaign period.

“To all our employees, thank you very much. We were busy in the past five months due to political activities, but you never abandoned your duties to the province. Truly, we can say that no matter the outcome of the elections or changes in leadership, our employees remain ready to uphold good and honest service.”

He concluded by congratulating the entire provincial government workforce: “Congratulations to all of you. Together, we will continue the journey toward a stronger and more progressive South Cotabato.”
