OPAG turns-over Php2.45 Million worth of post harvest facilities to SouthCot farmers
BANGA, South Cotabato -The Office of the Provincial Agriculturist turns-over today at least ten units mobile corn shellers worth Php2.45 million to farmer associations and local government units at the Provincial Training Center , Provincial and Demonstration Farm, this town.
Said post harvest facilities which costs Php245,000 each will benefit farmers especially from upland areas.
The beneficiaries coming from six municipalities in the province include Kbatang Unified Farmers Association, Incorporated ((FUFAI) in Lake Sebu; Datal Dlanag IP Farmers Association and Lemkati IP Farmers Association in Tboli; Danlag Tribal Farmers Agriculture Cooperative, BLGU Danlag and BLGU Tablu in Tampakan; Landan Peoples’ Multi-Purpose Cooperative in Polomolok; MLGU Tupi and BLGU Tubeng of Tupi; and BLGU Lambingi in Banga.
Provincial Agriculturist Raul A. Teves, DVM said, aside from corn shellers, the provincial government headed by Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr. also turns-over corn mill and village level rice mills to deserving beneficiaries.
“This is one of our interventions to help our farmers achieve better yield and higher income.” He said,
He added said facilities came from the 20 % Local Development Fund of the province.
The turn-over and MOA signing was attended by BM Henry Ladot, BM Ester Marin Catorce and Vice Governor Vicente De Jesus.
