PHO appeals to APOR to follow health protocol

Provincial Health Officer Dr. Rogelio Aturdido Jr. appealed to Authorized Persons Outside of Residence (APOR) to follow the established health protocols particularly after returning from their travel.

Dr. Aturdido explained that APORs should undergo the mandatory 14-day quarantine after returning from their travel which is the proper protocol to follow and they are not exempted from it.

The PHO made the statement after receiving reports that some APORs are not submitting themselves to the mandatory 14-day isolation but immediately resumed their work after their travel.

South Cotabatoo’s number of CoVid-19 positive cases increased recently due to the influx of arrivals of Returning Overseas Filipinos (ROFs) and Locally Stranded Individuals (LSIs) and is currently experiencing local transmission from fish suppliers who buy their product from general Santos City fish port and sell it to fish vendors in the province, but all necessary interventions are now being made by the provincial government to avert the widespread transmission.

Atrdido in his previous pronouncement emphasized the 3Ts or Test, Treat and Trace strategy that the provincial government employs to effectively combat the CoViD-19 pandemic.

He likewise appealed to the general public not to ostracized public health workers (PHW) who now feel exhausted due to round-the-clock duty in hospitals, barangay health stations and other health facilities.

A number of PHWs are now undergoing the mandatory 14-day quarantine after being tested positive or suffering from symptoms of CoViD-19.
