Some 322.94 kilometers of provincial roads were repaired and maintained while 130.61 kilometers of barangay roads were likewise repaired by the Provincial Engineer’s Office (PEO) Maintenance Division from July to October this year.
This was disclosed by PEO Maintenance Division Chief Engr. Vicente Ayongao, during the weekly Kapihan sa Kapitolyo media forum hosted recently by the PGO-Information Division, this despite the on-going global CoViD-19 pandemic that hit the country this year.
Enr. Ayongao likewise reported that his division implemented 9 projects from January to October this year, of which 6 were already completed while the rest are still on-going as of October this year.
The breakdown of projects completed from January to August this year were as follows: Upgrading of Provincial Road along Junction National Highway Kolambog-Norala-Banga Road, Installation of Slope Protection along Edwards-T’boli Road, Installation of Slope Protection along Koronadal Proper-Aflek-Malugong Road, Installation of Lined Canal Along National Highway-Kipot-Banga-National Highway-Purok Reyes Road, Installation of Slope Protection along New Dumangas-Lacunon Road and Repair/Maintenance of Junction National Highway-Acmonan Road at Junction National Highway.
Meanwhile, the 3 on-going projects were the Repair/Maintenance along Tablu-Miasong Road, Repair of National Highway-Kipot-Banga-Purok Reyes-Banga-Lamba-Derilon-Lampari Road and Installation of Road Sign and Pavement Markings at Junction National Highway Guinsang-an-Norala-Poblacion Road.
Ayongao further added that South Cotabato PEO is currently maintaining 694.24 kilometers of provincial roads, of which 302.059 kilometers are concrete, 29.69 kilometers are asphalted and 362.491 kilometers are gravel.
