South Cotabato Honors Nutrition Program Champions as 51st Nutrition Month Launches

KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato – The Provincial Government of South Cotabato officially launched the 51st Nutrition Month Celebration during the regular flag-raising ceremony at the Capitol, highlighting the recognition of top-performing individuals and municipalities in the implementation of nutrition programs.

Christine Apolonio of Barangay Sulit, Polomolok, was hailed as the Outstanding Barangay Nutrition Scholar (BNS) for her exemplary service in promoting health and nutrition in her community. Named as first runner-up was Anabel Balajadia of Barangay Teresita, Sto. Niño, while second runner-up was Precy Emboltorio of Barangay Buenavista, Surallah.

In the category of Outstanding Municipal/City Nutrition Action Coordinators, Chelsea Daine Mariveles of Surallah earned the top recognition. She was followed by first runner-up Amrichu Handug of Tupi and second runner-up Mae Amor Morandante of Polomolok.

Meanwhile, Dr. Neil Crespo of Surallah was awarded as the Most Outstanding Municipal Nutrition Coordinator. Jean Delos Reyes of Tantangan placed second, followed by Dr. Evelyn Diosanan of Sto. Niño in third place.

For institutional performance, the Municipality of Surallah led the list of Green Banner Awardees, achieving an outstanding score of 91.2%. It was followed by:

  • Tantangan – 87.16%

  • Sto. Niño – 86.2%

  • T’boli – 85.25%

  • Tupi – 85.2%

  • Polomolok – 85.19%

All winners will receive plaques of recognition and cash prizes during the Nutrition Month Culmination Program scheduled on July 31 at the Tantangan Gymnasium.

The celebration underscores the province’s commitment to achieving better nutrition outcomes and promoting health and wellness in all communities.
